LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
 

EDDIE ADAMIC * Lifetime Achievement Award 2013

Eddie Adamic has led one of Detroit’s best-known Cleveland-Style polka bands since 1952 and appeared on television and radio in the Midwest and Canada. He has released five albums.

 

DWIGHT GOBELY

Dwight Gobely is one of the best-known guitarists and banjo-players in the Pennsylvania-Ohio areas for more than forty years. He has performed on at least fifty polka albums and has appeared with polka legends, such as Walter Ostanek, Frank Yankovic, Joe Fedorchak  and Sam Pugliano. He has had a long association with the Ted Zalac Orchestra.

 

LYNNMARIE HROVAT RINK

LynnMarie Hrovat Rinkhas been nominated for five Grammy Awards, including four for Polka. She has been entertaining on the diatonic button accordion since age 13. The Cleveland native lives in Nashville and has released 13 albums. She is starring in an award-winning one-woman show around the country.

 

JIM KOZEL * Lifetime Achievement Award 2013

Jim Kozel was Cleveland-style accordionist who performed and recorded with legends like Frank Yankovic and Johnny Pecon beginning in the polka heyday of the 1940s and 1950s. He was also a founding trustee of the Polka Hall of Fame and served as musical director of the first eleven Awards Shows. His songs include, “The Keystone Polka.”

 

FRANKIE ZEITZ * Lifetime Achievement Award 2013

Frankie Zeitz (Zajc) had a national RCA recording contract in the 1950s with the Ernie Benedict Orchestra and performed classics, such as "Red Lips and Red Wine." The California-based accordionist and bandleader was born in Cleveland, where he hosted a polka radio show in the 1950s and was an early TV polka artist. He produced 12 albums.
