Bob Zolka
Biography
Bob’s musical career began in 1982 when at fifteen years of age, along with his brother
Ernie, he formed The Zolka Brothers Band. They soon became very popular in their
hometown of Youngstown, Ohio, performing in many of the local establishments as well
as weddings and other private functions. In 1985
they released their first recording,
“The Zolka Brothers: Polkas & Waltzes” which included the original tune, “Zolka’s
Polka”. Another recording soon followed teaming The Zolka Brothers with “Canada’s
Polka King” Walter Ostanek for “Hands Across The Border III”. They recorded “I Love
You” by Steve Meisner as part of the Penn-
In 2003, due to family
and career obligations, Ernie retired. Bob was determined to keep the Zolka
tradition
of energetic polka music as well as rich vocals alive. This gave birth to The Bob
Zolka Band. The current band members include: Bob Zolka on accordion, Scott Grossen
on guitar, John Peplowski on drums, Joe Zdelar on bass guitar, and John Prodesky
on sax. For the past years, The Bob Zolka Band has been traveling the polka belt
entertaining polka lovers from
Pennsylvania to Illinois and look forward to performing.
Bob's muzikale carrière begon in 1982 op vijftien jarige leeftijd. Samen met zijn
broer Ernie vormde hij de Zolka Brothers Band. Ze werd al snel erg populair in hun
woonplaats Youngstown, Ohio. Ze speelden in die tijd veel op bruiloften en andere
privé feesten in de buurt. In 1985 maakten zij hun eerste lp "The Zolka Brothers:
